Creeper Central

Meet some of the visitors to "Creeper Central."  They managed to find their way up onto the 4th floor of Artomatic 2015 in Hyattsville to sit in for a five to ten minute session with The Creeper.  Not only that, but some of them were even around for the musicality of Luncheon lead singer and all around super cat, David Burns.  A fun night was had by all.  There was even candy.  Artomatic 2015 runs through December 12th.  Don't miss it!  More info here.
These guys were super cool and brave

ARTOMATIC 2015 - Meet the Band

Creeps in progress
The one of a kind Artomatic is back!  It's been three years since the last time this mega art and performance show happened and it looks like the space they found was well worth the wait.  This time around I've set up a music inspired room with new paintings of musicians that I've drawn live in concert, drawn from my imagination, drawn from photos of famous artists, and in most cases, a combination of all of the above.  Come visit!  I'll be in the space at least six times through the six week show.  Visitors can "pay what you feel" for a a creeper portrait done on the spot, purchase a new/old zine and mini comic, and on several select dates hear live music from some of my musician buddies played in "Creeper Central."

The Creeper is in:

Brewing Up a New Creep, Just for You

Always wanted to get in on the creeping didn't you?   Till now you didn't know how...  here's an idea:

1. You email me a photo (or two, please make them decent pics) of a friend/relative/business associate/famous type.

2. I ask you a few questions about content such as color scheme, personality/style, size (most of the ones below are 5 x 5, but that's negotiable), timeline (When do you want it by?  Hey, it's almost the holiday season!).

3. We agree on a price, somewhere between $25-50, mostly depending on size.

4. I create and deliver you a one-of-a-kind "creep" to gift/use as you like.

It doesn't get any simpler than that.  Hit me with an email - dccreepers1 at gmail, and we can get started.

Two More

Experimenting with different media at the Olive Lounge-
This was a tough angle and the white Sharpie marker makes her look much older than she was.  Still...

The view of this guy constantly was blocked by people at the bar.  I also made the classic mistake of putting the hand on his face and then he never repeated that look.  Still...

Artist Nights Creeps

Two folks I had a chance to sketch at the most recent Olive Lounge Artist Night.  No plans to do any more of these events just yet, but ... probably will again in the fall.  Keep your eyes peeled.  Sign up as a follower on this here blog.  That's one way to get it done.

Sam had never creeped before, but was willing to give it a try.  That makes him a rock star.

This cat wasn't saying much, but he seemed to be in the right place.

Mini Comics/Zines to Buy with Your Cash Money

FYI, DC Creepers has more than just a couple of mini books and zines to purchase in various DC/Baltimore area stores.  This could be done via the internet, but wouldn't you rather go and check out a really wonderful book/record/comics store?  Sure you would.  Here's a list:

Atomic Books (Baltimore): Thank You For Your Cooperation: Robocop 1987 fanzine, Vinyl Vagabonds - record zines, Better Know a Ramen - instant ramen zine, Mr. Squibly's Pooch FANG (book #1 of a three part story), Evil Squibly (book #2)

Big Planet Comics (Bethesda): Thank You For Your Cooperation: Robocop 1987 fanzine, Better Know a Ramen - instant ramen zine, Mr. Squibly's Pooch FANG (book #1 of a three part story), Evil Squibly (book #2)

Fantom Comics (Dupont Circle): Thank You For Your Cooperation: Robocop 1987 fanzine (ALSO three original drawings from the book in nice frames up on the wall), Verse Scribble Verse #1 - musician portraits/haiku, Mr. Squibly's Pooch FANG (book #1 of a three part story), Evil Squibly (book #2)

Smash Records: Thank You For Your Cooperation: Robocop 1987 fanzine, Better Know a Ramen - instant ramen zine, Vinyl Vagabonds - record zines

Don't see the books?  Make sure to ask the store to assist you in finding them.  Maybe they are sold out?  Wouldn't that be nice... except you still want said books.  Tell you what, get in touch if you're having a hard time and we'll make it happen.  dccreeper1@gmail.com

P.S. Think you know another spot where my books would be a good fit?  Let me know!
